Change to how car listings will be uploaded to Trade Me

There is an upcoming change to how car listings will be uploaded to Trade Me.

As part of Trade Me’s ongoing efforts to modernise their platforms and enhance the experience for both customers and partners, they will be transitioning from the current FTP listing upload method to a new method called Dealerbase API.

Note: this only applies to customers that operate a Trade Me package, not to direct listings

Key details:

• Effective Date: Starting from 1 July 2024, the existing FTP method will no longer be accepted.
• New Method: Dealerbase API will be the new standard for uploading car listings.

If you use Motorcentral to upload your vehicles to Trade Me, Motorcentral will be handling the transition process for you.

We intend to transition customers in batches and will notify you by email prior to your scheduled transition date. Our goal is to make this change as smooth as possible before the July 1 deadline, with minimal disruption to any services.

What you need to do

• Keep an eye out for further communications from us regarding your specific transition timeline.
• Reach out to our support team if you notice any issues with your Trade Me listings after we’ve transitioned you to the Dealerbase API method.
